McKay Stephen

I always considered a stephen a great opticians, until today I was in for an eye test paid my bill, when I asked for a copy of the prescription he charged me 20. When stephen found out I was able to avail of an NHS discount with my work his whole attitude changed, I then agreed I'd buy frames from him. I got no help, he actually sat smiling and laughing shaking his head behind the reception counter while I attempted to pick while he also tore my perscription up and threw it in the bin. I then asked him to just refund me the money which he did. When I got home I got an email to say stephen had cancelled my contacts lense direct debit without any consultation with myself. Bottom line is because I wanted to avail of a one off offer with my work I lost my contact lenses, all because he took the huff, over a prescription which was a year old. If he's that unreliable i will happily go elsewhere.

Absolutely fantastic customer service . Stephen and his staff go out of their way to help. Last week I placed an order for our daughters glasses she lost two years ago and was wearing glasses from 4 years ago . Not only did Stephen and Emma source similar frames and made them up but posted to our daughter in Carrickfergus . Our family will go nowhere else as we have always been well looked after and this week customer service was outstanding ! Highly recommended optician and assistant.

My husband and myself have been going to Stephen McKays opticians for many years firstly when he had a business on the Antrim Road and then when he moved the whole business to the Dunmurray branch we went too, all the way from Glengormley! Of course the reason we continued to go to him was his professional service and friendliness. His premises and reception staff are relaxing and friendly. Stephen is very good at explaining what the different tests are for and really puts you at your ease. I would recommend him to anyone.
