Damaged new fridge freezer on delivery/ instalment. Poor customer service. I have purchased products for many years from Blackwoods however this will be the last time. I paid for a new fridge freezer and paid for delivery/ installation and disposal of the new appliance. The side of the fridge freezer was scraped on a door handle on the exposed side during delivery. I contacted the owner/manager regarding the fact that I was still awaiting a receipt for the purchase 4 days after it bought and to let him know that his delivery staff had scraped the product. Instead of apologising preceded to say that he delivered it and said what did you want me to do? Leave it in the hall!? . The tone of this person was aggressive. I explained that when you arrange for delivery usually the company assesses the house and the installation site and then they make adjustments if required eg. Put a buffer between the product and a door handle or remove a door or handle. It is shocking that its seems normal for a company to damage a new product on delivery / arrival and then proceed to be rude to the customer and not offer proper customer service. This new fridge freezer now has a damaged side that faces into the kitchen. I didnt ask for compensation but thought I may get an apology but instead I receive verbal abuse. I choose a local company to support a local business however I feel we have been short changed. In addition I purchased the product over the phone that a receipt would be emailed to me - I am still waiting for this.
