The place has potential, but its not being realised.. maybe thats why we were the only customers in the place at 7pm on a Friday night?? First impressions were not good - the street door did not close properly, so all the heat was escaping (weep, all climate change worriers!). The decor is fairly drab, the area behind the serving hatch looked dark and dingy, with random people coming and going, and there was a collection of not-very-good art for sale in one corner of the eating area. Why?? The guy who took our order was friendly and helpful, but the food seemed to take ages to arrive - the kitchen is upstairs, out of sight. The food, when it did arrive, was actually not dreadful. Tasty burger (but- in a floppy bap, and slathered in too much mayo), real chips that were lovely and hot (but not crispy). The fish was a bit over-cooked, but edible. If everything else was more welcoming, I reckon the place could do quite well. But it smacks of careless disinterest by the owners right now. Parking: Parking is not easy to find anywhere in Ballyhackamore these days, but we did manage to find a space not too far away.
