Our group journey to Belfast was amazing , very friendly city and welcoming , however our stay in the accommodation was unsettling and worrying , the host walked into the household without any prior notice while some members of our group were upstairs getting changed , we damaged a shelf (accidentally) which we believed wouldve cost no more than the 400 security deposit we had to hand over before being allowed onto the property , with no cleaning arrangements, new towels or even rubbish bags to help remove our rubbish. we were then at the end asked to pay a cleaning fee of 45 an hour (which beforehand we were never told to strip beds or make them in anyway) on our way home we received a phone call demanding 1000 to be sent to an account for the damages (which wouldve cost no more than the security deposit to fix (400) the member of the group who damaged the shelf was willing to pay extra to help cover the shelf however 1000 was seen as ridiculous (1400 in total to fix a shelf and the wall). We arrived to the household on the Thursday only to discover that cameras were placed in the communal areas and the hallway which at the time was very unsettling. We believe things couldve been handled a lot better and felt very uncomfortable with the property as a whole.
