WG Lucas's artwork comes from a place where neglected, overlooked objects and characters cross borders into the liminal. They shine with shadow light, make strange patterns and stories that quietly slink into your psyche and transform what you took for granted until everything has this fresh lustre. He artwork makes you reexamine how moments are never quite what they seem. Remember when you were a bairn, and you'd look under stones and find another world beneath the surface, and you'd stare in, amazed? That's what Mr Lucas's work does, takes the lid off the ordinary so you catch a glimpse of the magic beneath. I own several pieces, most of which I keep near my bed in the hope they inspire my dreams to fly off just to be able to brush their wingtips against the places they come from. Surreal, beautiful, alchemical. Cannot recommend him highly enough.
