An oasis of old world charm in unassuming Ballinamore outside Ballymoney. This rambling cottage is totally charming and huge. There were 10 of us, but it could easily have held 20. Brilliant drawing rooms to sit in (complete with grand piano for a sing along), a fantastic well equipped kitchen ( it used to have a restaurant) and plenty of loos (even if we couldn't find the lights for the one near the kitchen until the eve of our departure.) The wall panels in the front hall tell the fascinating history of the place. The garden is really a series of glades intersperced with thickets leading down to the old mill. What a marvel it would be for children in summertime! Heating seemed good though to be fair it wasn't that cold for early October outside. Our bathroom was good with a power shower which I imagine worked well if you were more familiar with power shower controls, which I wasn't. It was fun trying to work it out anyway. This place is well worth the money if you have a large group.

Place was freezing, as rooms are massive and radiators are for normal sized rooms. Some of the fires could not be lit as there was no draw from the chimneys. Gas supply ran out and was not replaced. On the plus side, they have a resident cat who's gorgeous. Please invest in a better brush for him as he loves getting groomed. A big thank you to the staff who returned items I had left behind. I will make a donation to cats protection as no payment was asked for the postage. Think this place would of been much more enjoyable if the weather hadn't been so cold.
