This place is magical. I dont think there are many locations more beautiful than here. The views are like something from a dream. There are a few things I would suggest if you plan to stay here: Bring collapsible outdoor chairs, there isnt really any comfortable furniture outside. Consider booking a supermarket delivery for soon after you arrive (a few supermarkets deliver to this area, we ordered from sainsburys). The house doesnt have any food items, including salt, oil for cooking or teabags (although there is a lot of cooking equipment and utensils). You also need your own washing powder, dishwasher tablets, toiletries & toilet paper. There is washing up liquid & some cleaning products. There are towels but you probably need to bring some of your own for the beach. If you have young children, be aware that it isnt the most child friendly house (although we managed ok with a 2 year old and a 5 year old). There is a stair gate but it doesnt seem to fit. We also brought black out blinds. There is a travel cot but it is one of those with a very thin mattress. There is also a high chair but it is quite heavy & cumbersome. The beach is literally on your doorstep which is great for children, and there is an electric shower so there is always hot water to shower them off afterwards. There is an outdoor tap but no hose. The house is lovely and warm, not drafty at all like I expected. It is well kept and clean. The views from upstairs are incredible. The house is well proportioned but I think more than 4 people would start to feel a bit cramped. I think some of the downstairs furniture and kitchen items are a bit oversized/ chunky for the space. I really hope we can come back again and I would definitely recommend to others.

Strand house is a cosy self-catering holiday cottage in the picturesque National Trust village of Cushendun. As suggested by the name, it faces onto the beach with views of the sea. The house was pleasantly warm despite freezing temperatures outside. Even the sash windows are completely draught proof, but can be opened for ventilation. The stone floors can be a bit cold, so slippers are recommended. Although fairly compact, it provided plenty of space for four people. The decoration and equipment are generally in very good condition. The one thing to bear in mind is that there are very limited facilities in Cushendun, particularly out of season.

What a beautiful cottage in a stunning location. With the beach on your doorstep and within walking distance of so many fantastic places to visit, Strand House is the *perfect* place to forget Covid-19. This is the view that greeted us on our arrival. Cosy nights in front of the log burner, rediscovered rivalries at Scrabble, and fabulous food a 10 minute dander away at McBride's...bliss
