Slemish Private Nursing Home

This is a wonderful, caring and well run nursing home with staff second to none. My aunt spent her last 5 years there and was a lively character up to a week before she passed away at 105!!! Couldn't speak highly of the home, it's management and staff. This review is long overdue but I hope tge staff take heart from it under the current climate of the pandemic.

Slemish Nursing home has a wonderfully dedicated team of workers who really care for the residents and go the extra mile. My aunt is 103 and has been in the home for the last 5 years. I am totally confident in the staff's excellent pastoral and medical care and having recently experienced a very different home where my mother was placed for rehabilitation it made me so grateful that my aunt has been so wonderfully cared for and that I have always been kept informed of her welfare. I only hope that Healthcare Ireland appreciate the staff that they are taking over in the transition from Care Circle Management as they will find it difficult to get a more caring staff which is what relatives want as opposed to somewhere that just looks good. The heart of any care home is its staff and short cuts like short staffing particularly at night alongside a bland 'hotel-like' look seem to be the order of the day. Giving the elderly the care they deserve should be paramount and fortunately Slemish nursing home staff have this ideal at the core of their team. They should be used as a model for others!!!!!
