A little underwhelming unfortunately - the photos on the website promised much more. Three (and almost a half) potatoes each, half a carrot and three very small parsnips between the two of us..sides were fine of cabbage, cauliflower cheese and broccoli. Gravy was nice. Hubby had one thick slice of beef and I had a lamb steak - not really a roast to be fair and probably local pubs do a better job without the fanfare. Nice enough meal but we were prepared to spend a lot of money here today, but instead went elsewhere for desserts and cocktails. Our server, Navia, (I think ) was so very friendly, she probably saved our visits. We won't be visiting Tomahawk in the future.

Weve been coming to this Tomahawk at York since not long after it opened, for the first few visits we couldnt fault it then l had a disappointing fillet steak which was ordered medium rare but when it came it was medium well done, we did point this out after I had started to eat it but I ate it as it was edible but not as ordered so very disappointed , to have waited for it to be redone which they did offer to do would have meant my husband would have finished his meal before I got my replacement, we went again a further 2 times and ordered the sharing board, again totally disappointed each time the sirloin steak was inedible as it was basically just fat and gristle no meat, we did complain at the time and we were told the sirloin had been labelled incorrectly that was the rib eye, just an excuse as it was still inedible, the table next to us had ordered the sharing board too and they had the same complaint as us and their sirloin was apparently also wrongly labelled, we havent been for quite a while but went again this weekend, fillet steak ordered again with sides, after about 15 minutes my husband said here it comes for the meal to be delivered to another table which they rejected as it wasnt what they ordered so it was returned to the kitchen, about 5 minutes later the same food was brought to us, my husband asked the waitress to be honest if this was the same food that had been taken to the wrong table to be told absolutely not it was all freshly cooked for us, unfortunately this was not true the food was cold , we did mention it to someone who could possibly have been in charge and he was most apologetic, he went to the kitchen to check and said the steaks had been flashed in the oven to reheat and brought to us but obviously with the same sides, within a couple of minutes everything was cold, he was very helpful with the complaint and did discount the meal but yet again our experience was well below expectations, unfortunately due to this we wont be returning
