Found this little place yesterday, a little unsure as so quiet, but after tasting the carbonara and the liver and onions we will hopefully be back

Visited today as it was highly recommended by in-laws. Pretty quiet and cosy place. Ordered 4 coffees and expected a free donut as advertised however we didn't get any. Also ordered a steak sarnie, expected a handmade toasted Italian sarnie and got two slices of white toastie bread with a slap of cheap steak in it with some crisps and salad. Very disappointing and hope I get my donuts when I visit again.

Visited here whilst on a day out into York City. Chosen as there wasn't many guests inside. Decided not to eat as the menu was a bit overwhelming & not child friendly. Ordered 3 drinks which were flat, the lighting here is dingy & the furniture well worn. 3 stars given for the outstanding table service, one waiter by himself, brought my child some doughnuts free of charge and sweets on the way out.

We eat here every time we come to town and it is always great food and excellent service. I recommend ordering from the specials board, I havent had a bad pick from it yet!

New name (formerly Restaurante Bari) and a new menu, but the same great quality and the same incredible experience. We have been frequenters here for over 10 years now during the autumn holidays, and it remains to be our restaurant of choice. Coffee and doughnuts in the mornings remains one of the 8th wonders of the world, and their new menu, while quite radically different from the previous, contains some classic British favourites, and are easily of the same standard as their previous food. Their battered haddock and cheesy broccoli bake are a must. Staff are friendly, prices good, quality stunning, atmosphere lovely. What more do you want?
