Great place to stay at or visit if going to The Barbican nice room's at a decent price good selection of beers in the bar and a excellent breakfast. Some road noise if staying in front bedrooms and there is a bus stop directly outside so passengers on the top deck maybe able to see into room so probably best to shut curtains. Within 5 minutes walk of city walls and a couple of minutes walk of two other pub's so if you want a change of scene or a meal an ideal place to stay while visiting York. Rooms: Good sized room with shower,TV and chair

Single room the size of a broom cupboard, just enough space for single bed and small storage unit. Only useful for kettle bathroom window emitted permanent draught, not nice in early April with no heating in the room. Private parking turned out to be the local churchyard.divine security? Good location though, very short walk into the city. PS. and in response to the owner I would like to add that the difference between the broom cupboard and the other rooms advertised is just a bit much. When the room was booked months in advance, there was no indication that the king would visit York, That would of course have warranted to double the price for a room where you have to crawl into bed to keep warm when watching TV, and the en-suite is unsuitable for plus size persons.
