My husband bought a pair of varifocals two years ago unfortunately the frame broke. ( just snapped off no provocation) his prescription had not changed and they cost 460 when new. Went to Clifton Moor today and we was seen by the most disinterested woman I have ever met in my life, No eye contact , no warmth whom stated that design had been discontinued and that the lenses could not be refitted into any other glasses. She stated we would have to buy another pair of spectacles and lenses. We went to Boots in York Centre and was seen by a fantastic young lad who transferred the lenses successfully into a new pair for 70. I would say avoid Clifton moor they dont want to help just want your money.

Bought a pair of distance specs, and two pairs of prescription sunglasses, three months ago. Struggled with one pair of sunglasses, although they all have the same testbench optical performance. Boots conducted a second free eye test, which identified cataracts forming that possibly impairs some distance vision, and then suggested replacement polarised lenses to replace one pair of sunglasses, which they offered to provide on very advantageous terms. I cannot fault the care taken to ensure my vision is good, and think their service is excellent.

Have not had any contact lenses since November sent out. They just seem to brush me to one side and are not bothered. 1 star

I was due an eye test back in April. I always see Ashley Armstrong. By the time I had been told he was off work sick and re-booked 4 times, I gave up and went to Asda. The staff there are very friendly, and the test was extremely thorough. Glad I changed
