CityLets Letting Agents York

I will be writing a lengthy review in future - was a landlord for approximately 10 years and service / reliance went downhill. Poor inventory, given tenants with CCJ without being advised and then personal items as part of the house got stolen.

Me and my partner have recently moved to our new property with the help of City Lets York. Both Leanne and Karen have been extremely helpful from the very beginning of our move - they replied to all our emails very quickly, answered any questions we had thoroughly, and did their best to make sure our move was successful and hassle-free. Definitely recommend renting with City Lets!

Approached CityLets York to make use of their advertised short term and flexible lets only to be told the staff couldn't help because property prices started at 2000 pcm for a minimum term of 12 months. We found lots of properties listed between 995 and 1500 pcm with no minimum term mentioned. When this was pointed out, the response was that landlords were asking for a minimum term of 12 months yet the website continues to advertise short term and flexible lets with prices nowhere near the 2000 we were quoted. False advertising at its very best. If the company doesn't want out money, they should just say so and not lie.

16 John Walker House, booked for 2 nights in August. Lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment, very handy location, secure with secure parking, well-appointed. As it's for 4, could have done with another access key!

Was expecting the worst after having previous trouble with landlords and letting agents in York the last couple of years but the difference was remarkable. I was desperate to find somewhere at short notice since work had me needing to be in York with just a couple weeks notice. Upon first calling Leanne was immensely helpful and sorted out an amazing flat for a great price, and even helped us place an offer before it was on the market, efficiently agreeing on a deal which was very beneficial to both me and the landlord. We were then passed on to Karen who made the following documentation period as efficient and painless as can be hoped for. Contract was fair and well written up. Moved into the property at short notice having not had the time to view it but am really happy with its condition and size. Its rare somewhere looks better than in the pictures!
