Took my car in for 4 new tyres today, quick and friendly service. Car was ready within 2 hours and rides really well now, would recommend to anyone! Even had a laugh with the lads there when I picked the car back up, thank you!

Not sure whats gone on with this branch for the last few years, prob a change of management, but the level of service has fallen off a cliff. Having used National for many years and previously left a glowing review about 5 years ago, I was told in 2019 that my car would no longer be covered for anything other than MOT and tyres as they could not source parts as the list of suppliers had been consolidated down to a few. So i booked in my car last Friday to have a slow puncture repaired (the tyre being insured with National) only to turn up as required on the following Monday, after working over lunch to get the car to them at the required time, to find no record of the booking, so a wasted trip and inconvenience to myself. What rankled was at no point did any member of staff apologise for the error. Having read some of the recent reviews left I can only say i'm not impressed. I also had an MOT booked with them in August 2022 only to be told the day before that the branch was closed. Sad, because they did so well for many years. PS. To add insult to injury I was called by the branch to let me know there was a nail in the tyre, and that they could fix it but advised replacing with a new tyre as there was slight cracking of the tyre (which I was aware of). I asked them to just fix the tyre under the insurance taken out as Id be looking to get two new tyres in a couple of months before the tyres deteriorated any further. When I went to collect the car they had in fact put a new tyre on, stating they could see the cords on the tyre when they took it off (I only have their word for this, both orig tyres were fitted same time and both had sim wear and slight cracking, and my intention was to get them both replaced at once in a couple of months). I was presented with a bill for 49.96 for the new tyre, and told the insurance cover covered me for 50% of the cost due to the wear of the original, the amount of cover being reduced depending on the amount of tyre wear. I had thought id get more off the cost as the tyres were not worn to a great degree but thought nothing of it till I got home and looked at the reciept/paperwork id been given in the branch which stated I had 6mm tread left on both rear tyres. Under the terms of the insurance I'd taken out this amount of wear should have given me an 80% reduction in the cost of a replacement not the 50% I was told. This is stated in the info leaflet i have from when originally buying both rear tyres with insurance.
