Sally let the side down. We visited the store on Good Friday at around 16:00, it wasnt very busy, the staff were recovering the merch from the days trade, we wanted to visit the erected tents in the back of the shop as recommended by a member of staff, to quote the team member we have a myriad of tents on show I have to say, it was disappointing as it was made out to be something spectacular, anyhoo we found a fantastic bargain of an ex-display tent, we huckled Jack and asked a few questions regarding the non-returnable label on the tent, I asked about the statutory rights should it be faulty, he wasnt sure enter supervisor Alex, seemed nice enough though alittle clueless, we later found out that he was new to the job. So, bargain sought and we asked to get the tent, Jack jumped to the challenge, grabbed his battery drill and sped off. We continued shopping for 30 or so minutes, to then be approached by Jack stating that the Manager claims that the store is too busy to break-down the tent and it was company policy to get customers to return at a later date to collect the tent, we would have been super fine with that, had they not left us for half an hour before letting us know. We asked to speak to the manager as we dont live locally to the store, apparently, she wasnt available as she had just left. Some words were exchanged with Alex, and we tried our luck with the old being inconvenienced and can you do anything for us, Alex offered 10% though had to get authorisation, presumably from the manager that left site. Long story short, Sally the Manager is a disgraceful leader who delegates her team mates to do her dirty work, putting them in positions that the manager should be dealing with, misleading customers about well, blatant lies. A pragmatic leader, leads from the front Sally! Brand standards and company values should be lived and breathed across the board, not when it suits because its almost closing time. Jack, you are the man! Keep the Customer Service torch alive, you would have moved mountains and we could see that, Alex some more training is needed on the business acumen, hopefully NOT from Sally whos best suited for carousel trade in Starbucks. Overall, not impressed with Go Outdoors, will we return?....
