APM undertook a full refurbishment of a 1960's bungalow including a kitchen and utility extension. We agreed a programme and price and APM liaised with Building Control throughout. The work was completed to the agreed programme and the account settled quickly. Alan and his team delivered a great outcome as the existing building presented some challenges and the finished project overcame them and looks great. Knowledgeable , easy to deal with and delivered as promised with regular updates to keep us informed.

I don't recommend this company for large multi-skilled projects Back in 2018 we first started working with APM Contracts (Alan) to complete a single floor extension to the rear of our house. At the time I queried the roof tiles on the extension, however Alan confirmed there was nothing wrong with it, and that the tiles sitting proud, particularly around the windows was normal. Since 2018 Alan has done various joinery jobs around the house. We at that point had no issues with his work, so commissioned APM Contracts in 2021 to level the floor and fit porcelain floor tiles in our extension, and also fit the kitchen. Despite a conversation before the floor was laid, we discussed the use of a crack-mat (as the subfloor was raised and wooden, the extension and existing kitchen concrete). This was not used and as a result the grout cracked almost as soon as the floor was laid. Alan tried to redo the grout, adding a flexible additive, but it quickly cracked again. We asked Alan to ensure the floor was properly corrected, but he refused to rectify the issue. Since this work was done, we have already had to redo the floor grout twice and are having to live with an ongoing issue as a result of the incorrect techniques used to fit the floor. In 2021 we then had a professional roofer take a look at our extension roof who informed us of a multitude of issues. We started to get water ingress, and upon investigation, Alan who had liaised direct with Building Control throughout the build had failed to get building control out to inspect the roof, or provide final sign off of the extension all of this was not disclosed to us upon completion. We found out that the roof was not at the right pitch (too shallow), had gone against the architect plans and what had been approved, the wrong tiles for the pitch were used and the velux windows were also at the wrong pitch, there was also various issues with the fixing of the tiles to the roof (they werent even fixed onto the roof!!), and the quality of the products used were poor. Following a call with Building Control, they promptly came to visit the house, in addition to the roof it was also confirmed that a rainwater pipe was conveyed into the soil and vent pipe vs the correct route into a manhole. We have reached out to APM and given Alan various opportunities to rectify the issues, to which we have had absolutely no response. We have subsequently had to have the extension roof completely redone, including new windows and new flashing kits to ensure the windows are at the right pitch, and also re-plaster inside the extension due to the water damage caused. APM Contracts have not provided one form of communication to either investigate, clarify or rectify the issues. There is no formal Complaints Policy, so we have lodged a formal complaint with Trading Standards and we are looking to pursue legal action to recover the costs incurred. Its a real shame as there was a lot of other good work done over a period of several years, but I would not recommend using APM Contracts for large projects which requires specialist expertise, such as roofing. Our experience has demonstrated that APM Contracts take on jobs which are beyond their expertise, and have not been forthcoming with short cuts that were made. This is an honest review from someone who has now had to incur great expense to rectify the damage caused by some of the sub-standard work carried out. I am keen to ensure other people looking into using APM Contracts are well informed and use Alan and the team for the skills they have versus those beyond their competencies.

Great customer service and finished project, thanks so much to Alan and his team. Our quote was prompt, very detailed, and reasonably priced and the project was carried out well within agreed timescales to a really high standard. We would definitely use these guys again.

We recently had our school toilets replaced and refurbished. We are so impressed with the finished result. The company are a pleasure to work with and so professional. They worked so hard to make sure everything was completed before the children returned after the school holidays. We would definitely recommend APM and would most certainly use them again for future projects at our school. Thank you for making such a positive difference for our pupils.
