Booked a table for child's 9th birthday meal after a great afternoon in York. Arrived to find the restaurant closed with a handwritten note saying "closed due to circumstances beyond our control" they had our number so why didn't we get a call so that we could arrange something else for the little boys birthday? Rubbish, we won't eat at any of this chains restaurant ever in future. No communication, nothing at all, nothing sums this chain up. Avoid at all costs.

I can't honestly believe how this place is still open!!! Worst dining experience of my life. We were there for 1.5 hours and left without food. We asked for an update after 45 minutes and the server said he would get an update for us, he never came back to us. They failed on every element, I could understand if there was a problem or a backlog in the kitchen if they kept us updated and explained the delay, but they just ignored us, and didn't even follow up on our request for an update. We left without food, and saw many other tables around us getting ready to do the same. We had a 2 year old girl with us, and they didn't even recognise the fact that she needed feeding. Absolutely astonished how simple food can be soo wrong.

We booked two parties, one at 6.30 and one at 7.30 but got a phone call to cancel one booking due to no electricity. Clearly not true as we got there at 7.30 and it was open. Food was shocking, chips burnt, chicken dry and burnt, lasagna dry, long long waits. Felt sorry for the staff who were clearly stressed and were v polite and apologetic. Will not step foot in frankie and bennys again. Knocked some off the bill but a birthday tea ruined for a 4 year old.

The service was 5 stars from Jake/Jacob he was the best waiter in there but the food was terrible they got the order wrong pizza was burnt one of the workers put her hands on the rim of a drink all the food came out at different times so the other food was getting cold Dietary restrictions: Dairy and soya allergies he could not have a dessert
