I stayed at Safestay York Micklegate for three nights from April 6-9, 2023. Pros - staff were very prompt to address issues and helped with a problem I had in my room arrangements and in bathroom cleanliness - good location near the city adjacent to the Micklegate wall and very reasonable price Cons: - the beds are not very stable and move very easily. I could not sleep very well the first night staying at the top bunk - was moved to a room at the basement which had thin walls and I could hear the trolleys rolling and footsteps of the floor above. - the kitchen has a fridge, utilensils, and a microwave but no sink with running water nor an oven.
