Friars Rest Guest House

We have been in this inn at the end of april. Steve has welcomed us very friendly and explained everything necessary. The rooms are a dream, really nice and beautiful from the detail. The location is also perfect. It is only 10 minutes to the city. The city of York is definitely worth seeing. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Once a day the room was also cleaned. Tea and a kettle and a hairdryer were also in the room. I highly recommend the inn! Walkability: 10 minutes to the city

Lovely bank holiday weekend break staying at the Friars Rest Guest House. Fantastic location with only a short walk to the city, very large room with ensuite, super clean with coffee & tea replenished daily plus parking available. Steve was a lovely host & we would highly recommend. We will book directly if ever we plan a weekend in York in the future

From booking to leaving, Steve was a great host, nothing was too much trouble. It is out of town, but free parking was a bonus. There is a bus stop nearby to get bus into centre,or, cross the road, down the lane then walk along the River to the town centre. Barbican is a short walk away. Tea,coffee supplied. No breakfast which suited us fine as you are not on a time schedule for breakfast. TV in room, shower and toilet en suite. Small space to hang clothing but adequate for 3 nights. It is on a busy road but it is so quiet when you are inside. Bed was comfortable and room was refreshed every day. Would definitely stay there again.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was ideal to get into York or the station quickly. The rooms was the cleanest I've ever been in, and the cleaners would replish the milk, coffee and tea. Also emptied the bin and cleaned the toliet whilst you stayed. Would definitely stay again. Walkability: Just a 20 minute walk into York
