Had halloumi fries which are gluten free as he doesn't put flour into the fryer. Absolutely delicious! My partner had the truffle Gouda on toast with salami, chorizo and olives. Such good value for money, quality not compromised and fresh. Fantastic chalk boards too haha!

Extremely friendly and delightful customer service. We had the pleasure to meet the owner a lovely warm chap that gave us a great deal of insights about cheese! Although I dont personally eat cheese I decided to walk in with my partner as she wanted to get a selection of 5 cheeses. 200% worth the experience!

Fabulous cheese shop run by a chatty informative man who let us have lots of tasters. I could have bought most of the shop but just allowed myself 2 -a delicious blue and vintage cheddar but then succumbed to some incredible (and very large!) olives. The Saturday after our visit was spent eating them all with some sourdough and a bottle of red wine. Heaven

I need to point out, we found this shop by chance and bad happenstance (thanks to lost car keys) but Im so glad we found this lovely little place. So lets talk cheese first - great selection and some really amazing cheeses. The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable. He clearly has a love for what he does and it shows in his enthusiasm. That makes all the difference. Now the real reason Im writing this review: the dirty fries! OMG! Words cannot describe how good these were. We had the Camembert, with sun dried tomatoes and spring onions. Now if that doesnt sound tasty enough the skin on fries were also seasoned. I can honestly say they were the best dirty fries Ive ever had. Its no surprise the owner is also an ex chef. If you take a saunter down Grape Lane in York, do yourself a favour and pay this shop a visit. You wont be disappointed.
