I have covid and APyork are kicking me out the day my isolation ends. They're not even waiting to see if I'm negative first, and are therefore possibly causing me to break isolation. They refuse to even give me a single day extension unless I pay them. APyork have been disrespectful to students over the years, this is just another example of their lack of consideration or empathy towards their tenants. I expect an aggressive response based on the previous reviews.

You're better off being homeless than deal with these guys honestly Fully deserving of their almost amazing 1.3 star average rating on Google Actually impressively bad Sadly York uni and council have ignored students for years when it comes to rent and will continue to do so allowing companies like this to exist

Came to register my dissatisfaction with these clowns and was not surprised to see the belittling and sarcastic responses to the other negative reviews they have rightfully received. Completely in line with how they spoke to me and my group as tenants. Avoid if you can.

AP York have been difficult to deal with since the beginning of our 1 year tenancy. Pretty much every single review on any social media platform explains how unprofessional and unfriendly they are as a company (as youll probably see from their replies to previous reviews, and likely this one). As a whole, theyre condescending, snarky and downright aggressive to student tenants. To say something positive about AP York is that they are extremely good at communicating with you regarding our rent payments and any way in which they can grab money, yet they lack this skill if it is something which doesnt directly effect them. After our tenancy finished and they kept over 300 of our deposit (after a full house clean was payed for and proved with a receipt) - AP refused to respond to any of our emails. The house was average which is why ill award them the compulsory one star which they honestly dont deserve. Please to any potential future tenants, get out while you can.

I stayed with AP YORK from September 2017 to September 2019. When we first moved into our property myself, my mum, my housemate Chloe and her mum all spent around 2 hours cleaning the house top to bottom before we could even move in. It was disgusting. The oven was not clean (I took a photo when I moved in yet we were still charged for it when we moved out) and I don't see how this was fair. It says in the contract that the house should be left in the same state as it was found. If we had left it in the same state we found it in we wouldn't have got any of our deposit back at all. The properties were meant to have been "professionally cleaned' which it obviously wasnt. We contacted AP YORK about the oven and they said we would have to contact a professional cleaner to come out and clean it! That is not our job when we have just moved in. It should have been cleaned beforehand! The kitchen cupboards were not clean and one even had a few pieces of sweetcorn just sat in the cupboard! Another cupboard was full with pots and pans which looked like it had all just been shoved in. We also had to clean the fridge out as it had a bit of a smell. The washing machine had mould all around the rubber ring which they did not replace throughout the whole two years. They classed it as 'clean'. We had no wifi for a week (Or two) when we first moved in and we had already started our studies so we couldn't do any work at home. When we contacted AP YORK about this they were not understanding at all and even put the phone down on us at one point. We were paying for a service we didn't have which was not right. I must say Phil (who does not work for AP YORK anymore) was amazing. He was so kind and understanding, however I couldn't say the same for the rest of the team. Especially Robert. His attitude towards students is disgusting. He is very rude and doesn't like being confronted for sure. When it came to the bathroom in our property being replaced we had to move out for 2 weeks which we didn't get our rent back for and we also had to pay for other accommodation ourselves. We tried to fight this but robert became very nasty which gave us no choice but to back down. The emails we were receiving were not professional and very intimidating! When it came to moving out, I washed, dried and put the mattress protector back on the bed before I left the property but i was still charged because it was "dirty" and they had to "replace it". This is incorrect, I washed it and left it to dry over night ready to be put back on the bed the day I moved out (the following day). Maybe if you had smelt it you would have known it had been washed. I think the reason they charged us was because they have to replace them every year regardless for hygiene reasons but they try and get away with not paying for new ones themselves which is why they charged us. It is not down to us to replace them for you unless they have been damaged. Which in my case, it was not. On the cleaning down sheet it said to wash them and put them back on the bed. So i did! Yet I was still charged?! Myself and my housemate Liz spent 4 hours cleaning that house before we moved out. 4 hours on our own (the other 2 housemates had either already moved out or was not present for cleaning down) and we were still charged for silly things! Not many students would take great care when it comes to cleaning but we sure did because we wanted all our rent back! We printed the cleaning down sheet off and ticked things off as we went along to ensure we didnt miss anything. Not many students would do that. I have been nothing but calm and kind to AP YORK but they still gave me grief. There is much more I could talk about but overall I just want to warn others to stay well away from this agency. I was looking for a place last minute and didn't look at reviews unfortunately (silly mistake). If i had, I wouldn't have used AP YORK. It's a shame because the house itself was a nice size and the garden was beautiful over summer. You have been warned! Always look at reviews! Do not make the same mistake we did!
