Lunar Caf York

The cafe is hugely welcoming and serves excellent flag cakes, coffee and toasties. I love the fact it has free clothing for people that may not necessarily have access to gender affirming clothing. Even having a pay it forward scheme for those going through financially troubling times. All the staff have been incredibly friendly every time ive been in. Ive been to a couple of events theyve put on, on an evening and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Keep helping the community!

If I could give this place a zero I would...How I was treated today was absolutely disgusting by a member of staff!!!! We are supposed to be inclusive! Well I went there for the first time. I asked to use the customer wifi one lady said yes no problem and was about to get it and the other one stepped in and said "no we dont you can go next door and use theirs" she then continued to say how straight people have enough places of their own and im clearly straight (Im not by the way!) And the other lady said we are inclusive here. Honestly I was in shock!!!! I wish I reported her to the lady downstairs! I didnt want to cause a scene upstairs with it being my first time. The shame is the gluten free pride cake was lovely but I will never ever step foot in there ever again!!!! Vile treatment! Im still sad and upset about it! Discriminated against by one of our own...shocking!!!!!

Lovely cafe to sit and work in for a few hours. Food was good and didnt break the bank when I ordered a few drinks, a cake and a gluten free toastie. The owner is lovely and very welcoming.
