Just Riding Along bicycle wheels

I've bought a number of wheelsets from JRA over the years. This set, just like all of the other, are built to a very high standard with quality components. I'd highly recommend their products and expertise.

I purchased a set of Lark Light wheels from JRA mid 2021 and was initially very pleased with them. But after just under twelve months use I have been advised by a local bike shop to stop using them as the rims are worn away and are dangerously concave. I have done around 2,500 miles on the wheels cycling at a low average speed of 13mph and around 12 to 17 miles a day whenever I get the chance. I do cycle in all weathers and my route is very hilly but my previous set of wheels which were Fulcrum lasted for SIX YEARS under the same conditions. I have spoken to a few bike shops locally and they are shocked and some thought that the alloy was perhaps of low quality. I took my concerns to Jon at JSA and was surprised that he refused to accept any responsibility and fobbed me off with an offer to replace the rims at 110 each wheel. Not wanting to pay 220 every foreseeable year in the future I have declined his offer. I was surprised at the very poor customer care and after sales service as I expected much more from the good reviews I have read. In my opinion the wheels supplied to me are sub standard and not fit for purpose and JRA should have offered new wheels or a refund. I shall not be using them again.

Aluminum Larks are a great set of road wheels, just what I needed for 8 days bike packing along Route Des Grandes Alpes.

Best price I could find for the spokes and nipples I needed. Jon was really helpful when I just wanted to double check my calculations and if the spokes would be appropriate for the wheels intended use. Ordered at 2:20 and they came the next day as well! Would recommend for spokes 100%.
