We booked a last minute trip to York and this place was ideal. About a 20 minute walk to the main attractions in the centre (short taxi ride if youre tired after a long day of walking or overindulging in Bettys!) Great selection at breakfast with yoghurts, pastry, juice, cereal and various spread/local jams, tea and coffee. Cooked options included full English, poached eggs, pancakes with berries and maple syrup, or sausage/bacon sandwich. Veggie options also listed. We had a double bed which was soooo soft, felt like we were sleeping on a cloud so very comfortable. Toilet flush was very loud (electric flush) but not the end of the world.

Had a wonderful 2 day break at The Farthings. Helen was the most amazing host, and her mum is lovely. We had a very comfortable room, bed was fantastic, best two nights sleep in 20 years!!! Breakfast was fantastic 5 star. All in all a brilliant place to stay. We will definitely be back, and will recommend to any of our family and friends planning a stay in York.
