A breathtaking historic vista greets you as you pass the lodge house and proceed down the long drive through the grounds down to Leighton hall. The house is fantastic but its the gardens that were the main highlight for me. Beautiful cottage style borders, cherry blossom, Dahlia and just a generally amazingly kept garden. They even grow veg to use fresh in their own cafe. I also had the pleasure of briefly meeting the extremely knowledgeable horticulturist Jordan and his father Stephen who is the Estate foreman. The wealth knowledge these two lovely chaps have in their fields of expertise was inspiring. Great place to visit, highly recommend an outing there.
