City & County Estate Agents

Lack of integrity, as is the case with most estate agents! Received unprofessional service. Struggling to find a new place to move into and wanted to quickly apply for a property advertised by city and county. Spoke to a gentleman on Thursday 26th January during my limited break time at work. He claimed he tried to call me (even though I had no missed calls or voicemails). Said he saw my message and would help but they are not starting viewings until the following Wednesday. However, he said he would be able to go and take a video of the property but first we would need to fill in the pre-viewing questionnaire (which was unnecessarily detailed when compared to other agencies). Filled it in and sent it back the following day and called city and county to let them know and explained to them, they said that gentleman was busy. Called three days later on the monday (30th) as I had still not heard and spoke to the same guy who told me he had been away for a couple of days...really? He checked what I had sent briefly and said he'd send me a video by the end of the day. Come 5pm still nothing, so I called again spoke to a colleague, she said he's busy on another call, went to go and find him but comes back to give me some excuse. In the end, never heard back from them, never received a video either, its been a week now. A complete lack of integrity and honesty as you would expect from most estate agents!

I had a very good experience with the city and county state agents. My favourite sales agent was Callum Hannah he ws absolutely brilliant with his sales skills and a very charming young man who found my property within few days and I fell in love with it. Callum ws such an easy approachable person who I could just make one phone call and he would solve my problem . No delays I'm anything with city and county state agents as their process was so fast wich I liked the most. I ws helped in every way and I had peace of mind as they handled everything so well. Callum Hannah ws a very friendly ,cheerful and guided me all the way. The day I went to pic up my house keys callum ws more excited for me than I was and wished me all the luck with my new house. Thank you callum Hannah for my purchase of my new home any day I would recommend city and county state agent they are the best.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS! This is a review for the Cowgate branch in Peterborough City Center (Chris Green; Rachel OKane). Literally the worst and scammiest estate agents Ive ever come across. THROUGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!! Ive rented for over a decade and dealt with 4 estate agents, but City and County put even scammers to shame. There is always a blame game happening and nobody ever takes responsibility, including the manager. They delayed my moving in date by 1 month because of their own incompetence thereby forcing me to stay at Airbnbs at a much higher cost and also losing the landlord a months worth of rent. Also made me pay a double referencing fee (this was when agents were allowed to charge tenants for referencing). Then, when I finally moved in, the flat was not professionally cleaned. I pointed this out in my inventory and they accepted it. However they sneaked in a clause in the contract to say that the flat needs to be professionally cleaned before handing it back to them at the end of tenancy. Having had an awful experience in dealing with them in every interaction, I actually got cleaners to clean the flat before handing over the keys to the agent. The agent turned up 30 mins late to our scheduled appointment, with a black eye, and no apology for not answering his phone or even have the courtesy to text me to say he is delayed. Then he completes the flat inspection and is satisfied with how well cleaned out it is. Then he asks me for proof (a Vat receipt) of the flat being cleaned professionally. I didnt have one because I got the cleaners to come via gumtree, and they are not VAT registered. The agent then told me he would have to charge me a full cleaning fee amount of 200 which was 30% of the deposit. No where on the contract did it say that I have to prove that it was professionally cleaned. I literally wished to punch the guy in his face and give him a second black eye. I challenged them on it but they said they were happy to dispute this. I needed the deposit money to cover my rent for my new place and was at the mercy of sorting this out quickly, so had to succumb to their arm twisting tactics. I learnt later that it is illegal for estate agents to demand the return of a property in better condition that what they handed it over to you (even if they have stated it on the contract and you have signed it)
