Roped in as an extra to someone elses Birthday treat I was not entirely sure what to expect. So I figured anything with chocolate must be fun and went along with the plan. What transpired can only be described as an incredible festival of fun and just enough education about chocolates finer points to make me feel more complete as a person.
Lisa who runs the show is not only clearly a chocolatier of the highest order but also a very charming fun and entertaining host who manages to pass on her knowledge and skill without any airs or graces just a really engaging and friendly manner.
If you can manage a trip to this neck of the woods and lets not forget its within easy striking distance of both Bath and Bristol either of which makes a great little city break then I suggest you book without delay before some Arab prince snaps her up to train his personal chefs in the art of creating wondrous chocolates the like of which the world has never seen!
Which reminds me we made some wondrous chocolates ourselves from little discs (they have an official name I cant remember) decorated with all sorts of exciting toppings to delicious truffles and decorative colourful crafted objects dart. Well mine showed some lack of the artistic skill but under Lisas tuition they were not entirely awful.
Surprisingly there was not such a tremendous compunction to stuff my face with chocolate all day as I planned, I mean worried about having. No fears for anyone on a diet therefore. You are too busy to guzzle and this is real chocolate anyway not that fat laden stuff they sell on the high street.
Anyway make no mistake if you want a perfect gift for family, friend or colleague this is it. If you want a team building experience or friends day out this is also it. Its fantastic and theres even a book you can buy that features the chocolate tart although she will happily email you her recipe too.
Thank you Lisa....we will be back!
