My grandparent went there after not being able to stay at home on their own without 24 hr care. At first, we were pleased there are nurses on site and the carers checks up on my grandparent. However, over the months, we have noticed the staff have been lazier and not bothered. I have been in the same room as my grandparent and they pressed the button due to pain and thirsty, it took them almost an hour, despite that I have seen some staff on the floor, sitting around. I got so angry for my grandparent having to wait around. Then they told me they had to wait 2 hours for painkillers! I also have heard rumours that some staffs and the previous manager has left the home because they had enough with the way things were going, with the lazy staffs and lack of supports for the residents. But we couldn't take our grandparent out because it's the only place that is near to us and cheapest as well as they have friends there. If I see any improvements in the next few months, I will inform you *New edit* It has been a few months and no improvements have changed. I have been in and saw some staff sitting around, on their phones, with the residents' lights going off. I also heard that yet another manager has left. When we were told that we have no need for masks anymore, I was pleased as well as concerned and we had an email that there are covid at the home. The fact that they have said more staff have it than residents causes me more concern about their PPE to their patients and spreading more. I'm sorry but I'm going to have to decrease to 1 star now.

Alway made to feel welcome when I visit, by both, the staff and residents. A real family feel to the home.

Mum came to the home three months ago after my father could no longer manage her end of life care, we were given the recommendation of Yarnton Residential and Nursing Home - Sanctuary Care, having read some of the reviews we were unsure if she would be happy there. From the start she felt it was her new home, the staff were caring and compassionate and the rooms were clean and of a high standard. The Boss Sara-Jayne, Laura and Steph (Carers) deserve high praise for their dedication not forgetting the other carers that form the regular care work along with some agency staff who fill in. I was very impressed when they immediately spotted mums downturn in health and thanks to the prompt actions of Lynn and Martin (Carers) she went to hospital, after they had called the paramedics. She is now back home at Yarnton Residential and Nursing Home, laughing and joking with the staff and other residents thanks to their prompt actions. The bottom line is mums happy, the staff are well trained, the food I have seen looks delicious, and visitors are made most welcome at this, home from home.
