The restaurant itself looked really pretty but the service was very poor. It took a long time for our drinks to arrive - when we enquired, the lady said its because we ordered 2 cocktails (I found this hard to believe as they only contain about 3 ingredients!) but when we checked again later, the person at the bar said shed only just been given our drinks order. It wasnt at all busy the whole time we were there so Im not sure why service was so slow. Finally got drinks after around 20-25 minutes and the food was also very slow to come out. Longest wait-time Ive ever experienced. However, the food was delicious when it finally did arrive, which is why Ive given this 3 stars.

Went to The Purple Peacock for afternoon tea. Service was poor. Got there 10 minutes early and we were asked to sit in the lounge while they got the table ready, then they would call us through. We were still sat there 20 minutes later, they forgot about us. When we sat down, there was only 3 plates on the table with some cutlery and an empty salt dispenser. The coffee was cold and we had to find our own sugar as the staff disappeared. The scones were that hard and dry, you could have broken a window with them and the cup cakes were also dry and tasteless. Would not return and would not recommend.
