On the day of purchase I received a rather threatening email stating that I had an outstanding invoice with NTS. This was my first invoice for purchasing the items, not overdue at all. This was very quick on behalf of Northern Tank Solutions. If only the delivery time was as efficient. The website states that deliveries will be completed within three working days. After patiently waiting for two weeks my goods finally arrived and this is where our story begins. I was very keen and very excited to purchase from NTS after going on their website. I wanted only the best and most efficient set up for my business so I made a phone call to them, to get some expert industry knowledge and advice. I spoke to a sales advisor who had no idea what he was selling, he simply read a page from the website that I myself was reading. I explained my requirements and we finally settled on a fuel dispensing management system, a self service management pack and a few bits to go with it. This was a good exercise of upselling from NTS and I felt reassured that this would be everything I would need to complete a full fuel management system for my business. Upon installation I discovered that this was not the case. The system would not work, we had followed the installation guide to the letter but still nothing. After many frustrating phone calls to their supposed customer support it transpired that I would need to pay extra for additional set up support. This had never been mentioned all through the upselling process or even at the time of purchase. I had in fact been sold an expensive management system that was unusable unless I complied and bought additional support set up. After discovering something like this you may want to lodge a complaint, feeling as though you had been misled and mis sold an item. This will be met with rudeness, non interest and a we have your money now approach, even at a management level. I will not be purchasing additional support set up and I will never be using this company again. I am not the type of person who will sit back and be ripped off. I will be reporting Northern Tank Solutions to the Trading Standards Authority and also be seeking legal advice for my solicitor. I would like to warn anyone who is thinking of using NTS to look elsewhere. Absolutely disgusting.

We had our oil boiler serviced in February this year and as part of that the engineer has to complete an OFTEC oil storage tank inspection. Everything had gone really well until then! The tank base had not originally been installed correctly and it had begun to sink in the centre. The weight of 1300ltrs of domestic Kerosene had over the 20 years of use, deformed the tank and stress cracks had appeared. The size of the cracks meant that the tank, although not leaking, was not allowed to be refilled or topped up as potentially it would split and being a single skinned tank disgorge the contents which would be a disaster as the tank is not covered on our insurance due to its age. We had no alternative other than get a replacement tank, and thats when we found out that the installation rules have changed a lot in those 20 years! Our ornamental Jasmine hedge and fence had to go and a whole new reinforced base had to be constructed. This as you can imagine was not going to be a cheap endeavour and quotes ranged enormously, but we had seen a recommendation for an installer, Northern Tank Services, so went for them. Their price was extremely competitive and we opted for a new bunded Atlas1250ltr tank. On installation day the team turned up, pumped out the old tank and filtered the contents. The tank had to be cut in half lengthways and was sent off to be made into HGV trailer mudguards. They then dug out a new base, concreted in additional blockwork to support the concrete beams which formed the supporting base, before laying substantial paving slabs on top. There is no way this tank is ever going to suffer from subsidence. After installation we decided to install decorative fencing and did this to conform with current building regulations and OFTEC required clearances to ensure that there would be no issues in the future should we sell up, this cost us a strip of about 15cm of patio, but we never used that anyway. We cant recommend Northern Tanks enough for a very professional installation by a friendly and reliable team.
