Merritt & Co - Solicitors Yarm

Used Beth Dennis throughout a very stressful move from the Isle of Man to the UK. Dealing with two sides of solicitors the was hard work but Beth was available at all times and always helpful. Every question asked was dealt with within minutes and explained enough for the average person to understand. I would highly recommend this firm and would definitely use them again in the future if needed.

First time nightmare First time purchase for a chain free property with Sharleen Shevels, seemed to go smoothly until we were 3 months in, when nothing seemed to be progressing. I called on multiple occasions to get an update, where her assistant promised me a call back from Sharleen... which never happened. She had promised on multiple occasions she would review the file but never did. This occurred for 2 months, and turned out nothing had been done. I had to scramble and do a lot of the chasing up myself with help of the estate agent. I also went through their complaints procedure and the case was moved to Claire who was overloaded with work (100 cases???). She, after the huge waste of time, managed to barely get my purchase over the line (thank you Claire). Afterwards they had nothing to compensate me for the massive waste of time, lack of communication, stress, and lack of transparency. They said that the case was successful so there is nothing to compensate me for! I had to go to the financial ombudsman where they then offered a small sum. Unfortunately I ended up taking it under the ombudsman's advice as they wouldn't be able to investigate until a year later. This company has caused me so much stress, were untransparent, and simply unprofessional. I'd advise looking elsewhere.

I recently used Jessica's services for my house purchase she was absolutely exceptional. The service was quick and she was always there to answer any questions I had promptly. I will 100% be using her services and recommending her to friends.
