It's all in the name - care...home! This is an excellent care home. A family member has transferred here from a nursing home and the contrast is amazing. At the nursing home food and client stimulation was and after thought. At Brambles it is at the forefront of what they provide. The food is excellent and client involvement and activity is super. Nothing is too much trouble. A sign of good quality is the fact that there is a waiting list to get into Brambles. I hope when I get old there is a Brambles waiting for me.

This is one of the worst care homes I have ever visited, I'm a community carer and only have to come here to visit one gentleman. I have been here on a couple of occasions.. My very first experience here I was horrified to see carers lifting residents under the arm, and pulling them around like rag dolls. I was equally horrified when i suggested using the hoist (the proper way in which to transfer someone) and the care assistant that worked at the home told me she didn't know how to use it.. (WHAT?!??). After this experience I decided to make my company aware to which I then decided I would never visit there again. Up until recently I never have, but I visited here on sunday (15.12.13) and was mortified to see the standard of care had not changed and was still as awful as the first time i had visited. This particular client i had come to visit has a wash before bed, I am only there to assist the carers of the care home therefore I just follow her lead.. The water used was FREEZING and the gentleman was complaining how he didnt want a wash,I could hardly blame him when I put my hands in the water baring in mind I have a pair of disposable gloves on, I could still feel how cold the water was. The care assistant then proceeded to pull the client around lifting the head of the bed up and down its a surprise the poor man hadn't got whiplash. Again she proceeded to this with his legs. The standard of care this 'care home' provides is some of the worst I have seen, there was a buzzer going of for about 5 minutes meaning a resident was requesting help, it took too long for someone to answer and the buzzer continued to sound until a member of staff had reached her room. I wouldn't allow this home to look after an animal let alone a member of my family.
