Mead Family Funerals

My Dad Tony passed away in January 2023 leaving myself and my family very saddened and mourning his loss. On top of all this for the first time I was left with the daunting task of organising dads funeral and everything else to do with his death. Asking Meads to do the funeral was the best thing I could have done as they were amazing. From the first initial visit by Jem to the day of the funeral itself nothing was to much trouble. Jem lifted a massive weight off our shoulders and sorted everything out that he could. It felt like he was one of the family and he even gave me help and advice with the few elements that I had to deal with. Everyone at Meads treated myself and my family with respect and the upmost care. On the day of the funeral Jem and his team were faultless, the cars arrived to collect us and Jem gave mum a hug and checked we had locked the house, been to the loo and had our keys to get back in later that day, I thought that was a very nice thing to do. Jem and the team instructed myself and my brother on how to carry dads coffin as part of their bearer party and together we carried him in. I cant thank them enough for helping us to carry out that final act of love for our dad. Everything went like clockwork and that made an awful day a lot more bearable. Special thanks to Jem, Karen, Chris, Dave and everyone else involved. I would not hesitate to recommend you to family and friends in the future. You were excellent.

I have had the pleasure of working with Mead family funerals as an extetnal party and, lately, Jeremy took me around their establishment in Wroughton. I cannot over state how passionate the team are when it comes to providing a high class service jam packed with care and attention. Well done guys and it is always a pleasure to see you in action.

A HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO MEAD FAMILY FUNERALS Organising a funeral for the first time is a daunting, if not terrifying prospect; i dialled the number for Mead Family Funerals with a shaking hand and had no idea what to expect or what to say or do. From the moment Karen picked up the phone, all my fears and worries disappeared. Warmth, kindness and compassion radiated down the phone and I knew that Nicola and I had chosen the right people to look after our beautiful mum. When we met Jem, his warmth, empathy and sense of humour simply reinforced our decision. He made the overwhelming task so easy; he listened to everything we wanted and when we were unsure, he offered gentle guidance. His professionalism, high standards, extensive knowledge and experience, gave us complete confidence that he and Karen would look after everything for us. On the day, Mums funeral was just perfect in every way. It was everything we wanted and more. Jem and Karens attention to detail is second to none and the hard work they put in to make the day personal, special and memorable is clear to see. At every stage, before, during and after the funeral, Jem and Karen have shown us and all our family, genuine care and kindness. They could not have looked after our mum better and we genuinely felt as if they treated us and our mum, like we were members of their very own family. We have recommended Mead Family Funerals to all our family and friends and when the time comes for us to say farewell to another loved one, we would never engage anyone else. Wroughton is very lucky to have this very special family business and two such lovely people who run it. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My wife Karen sadly passed away in January 2022. I was devasted, tearful and unsure about the whole procedure of organising a funeral - my first time. Having known Jem and Karen Mead a little bit for some years through my small business I thought I'd break my family's tradition of using the "usual" Swindon firm and instruct Mead Family Funerals. And I'm so very glad I did. Every step was explained in great detail, with compassion, understanding and injected with a little subtle humour too - which I found strangely pleasant. Nothing was left to chance - this business is as respectful - and above all, professional - as anyone could possibly expect. If I could give more than 5 stars I most certainly would. Fantastic people and fantastic service - when you're at a point in life that all seems too awful for words, Jem, Karen and their team will look after you and help get you through it.
