Historic bowling green used for bowling since 1759. Enclosed by 13th Century grade II listed stone walls, once part of Archbishops Palace (964-1349) in use at the time of Thomas-a-Becket. Bowling green restored in 1985 by The Friends of Wrotham Recreation Ground charity who spent 40,000 to bring back from dilapidated condition. Wrotham Bowls Club (membership 70) have looked after it ever since. Unfortunately The Bull Hotel want to turn the historic bowling green into a wedding venue and it is in danger of being lost to the village. Legal proceedings are ongoing.
