We'd been looking for a quality butchers shop for years. They are unfortunately few left open since supermarket shopping. However D.S.Eagle is the real deal. Though it's in Writtle its only 10 minutes away from Melbourne Chelmsford and well within an acceptable distance away from Central Chelmsford. Professional butchers, experts and very willing to create what you ask of them. It's a premium service so prices are at a premium. However, if possible, it's a worthwhile investment in quality, flavour and local small business. It's so much better meat, tracked all the way from the farm to D.S. Eagle. Friendly and knowledgeable service. Good range of fresh and well presented produce. Can ask for advice and for meat cuts to your requirements. Home produced charcuterie exellent. Good range of cheese and preserves.

Always friendly and helpful. If its not on display they'll check and prepare you a fresh cut if they have more where they can. Great knowledge
