Wrightington Surgical Centre

Lots of parking spaces here unlike Wigan hospital. There is a cafe near the entrance. I've had a couple of surgeries here over the last few years also several scans. The staff always professional and caring. I feel like I'm in safe hands here.

I was told by my consultant that the only place he would have any orthopaedic surgery done would be at the Wrightington. I live in Washington,Tyne and Wear about 140 miles away. Going to Wrightington was the best move I could have made. 2016 Mr Henry Wynn Jones did a total knee replacement on my left knee and the results were fantastic. Being an above knee amputee I used to hop a lot of the time when I was in my 30s and 40s, this caused damage to my knee and both hips. Covid popped up and I was getting prepared for a long wait until I would get my hip surgery. Out of the blue in October I got a phone call from Mr Khan's secretary offering me a place on his list. I said YES PLEASE. I was admitted on 17th December and had a successful operation. The care that you receive is 1st class. The entire staff from cleaners to consultants are caring and genuinely interested in giving the best care possible. Must say a special Thanks to Swaney and Elizabeth for their support. Apologies to George (Physio) for winding him up so much but all in good nature. Once again Thanks to all at the Wrightington.
