Barchester - Winchester House Care Home

My brother and myself searched a lot of care homes in the Rochester are and this was by far the best. The rooms are a good size, the staff very friendly and the residents seem to be happy. They deal with different levels of care where some residents are bed bound and the staff really look after them

If you have a bed ridden family member then steer clear. My dad had been here 4-5 months and left with an enormous bed sore, apparently not the only resident to suffer in this way. He may never recover from this but thankfully is now being properly cared for elsewhere.

My 97 yr old mother was recently hospitalised for ten days. On discharge, she returned to Winchester House in a comatose state. It was entirely due to the loving and compassionate nursing she received from the Practitioner and care staff, that she pulled through and is now back to her pre-hospitalisation state. We cannot thank or praise them highly enough for their dedication, above and beyond their duties. I would have rated them 10/5 if I could! Thank you to the whole team, admin staff included.

Viewing for a relation. Beautiful,serene,calm and caring. We were given a complete tour. Residents seemed happy and pleased to see the various members of staff we saw interacting with them. Secure, safe , doors with key pads to protect residents. Diary if activities to help stimulate and enrich lives. Lovely dining rooms and day rooms. Clean and well kept. Every single person we met said hello and were ready to stop and exchange a few words.

We have just left my mother in law in their very welcoming & capable hands . Heres hoping she settles in well , hard decision for any family member to make , but we needed this help
