Andy Harrison Music

Andy has been teaching my 2 kids (now 11 and 13) for a number of years. Over that time he has taught them both a mixture of guitar and piano. Andy is always encouraging towards them and works to their pace. The kids have a really good relationship with Andy and he always makes them feel at ease, whilst making sure they work hard too! Ive been particularly impressed with the way Andy has moved the lessons online during lockdown. He was in it really quickly and found a way for things to carry on as much as possible. Its been great for us to keep up with the lessons and has especially been nice for me to be able to listen in. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Andy to anyone looking for a great music teacher.

I had been playing guitar self taught for 15 years and was stuck in between everything I learned either being too easy to stretch me or too hard to learn. After a few lessons with Andy I managed to kick some bad habits, and learn some theory so I actually knew what I was playing and why I was playing it rather than copying what I saw others do. Being mildly autistic can make these kinds of learning scenarios very difficult to deal with but Andy's teaching style was perfect for me with very clear and patient instructions. As well as teaching what I wanted to learn and tailoring lessons to me made it the perfect way for me to learn.

Andy has been teaching at our school since September. His students love their lessons and look forward to them every week. They learn quickly, have a lot of fun and always enjoy the songs they are taught.
