I had a really poor experience with Maximus. I was referred to them via my Universal Credit Work Coach and she explained that they would be able to provide me support whilst I searched for work in relation to my mental health issues. My first work coach was a man named Dan who I believe has now left the company. I received phone calls where initially it seemed like this was exactly the kind of support I was looking for and that he would be able to really give me the personal support I needed whilst I searched for work. However, I quickly realized that I was not a priority as they seemed to lose my information on multiple occasions and did not respond to any of my communications. Appointments were booked in but were always missed. When I tried contacting Dan, he only eventually got back to me via email to say that he was leaving his job. I was then assigned a new work coach called Tammy. At first, I thought that perhaps my negative experience was simply because of Dan and the fact he was on his way out of the company. Tammy was understanding of my poor experience and promised to be far more communicative. At first, she was and I thought that perhaps I would finally get the support I needed. However, once again I quickly realised that at Maximus it is all about creating good first impressions before chucking you off to the sidelines. My texts were ignored, appointments booked that I said I was not able to attend (I had gotten a job at this point and she was supposed to be offering in work support) because I was working. She did not reply and then when the date of the appointment went by she was confused why I had not attended the appointment and scheduled me in for another, again on a day I was working! I texted to explain, and received no reply. After badgering more, she eventually replied with not even knowing who I was! On top of everything, I felt like there was zero mention of my mental health issues with Tammy and she was far more pushy and less caring than Dan initially seemed. Ultimately, she was a much poorer version of the Universal Credit coach I have worked with who has been far more understanding and approachable. If you are referred to this service through your Universal Credit coach then I would refer them to this post and how unhelpful the staff at Maximus were. For someone who suffers with mental health issues, searching and finding the right job proved especially difficult during the pandemic but Maximus provided little to no support.

Nothing but Inconsitsant and awful. I have been under maximus for over a year and met with someone maybe 3 times. They message me a day In advanced about meetings to attend, they have provided no help in me getting a job.. They then said I was working when I wasn't. Will do nothing but answer their phones during your meetings. They won't get in contact for months and then send a text to see how your getting on. And when you respond they read it and don't reply and then will send the same message again on a few months time. If I could I wouldnt even give them one star, in all honestly I don't know what they are being paid too do. And too add, I have barely any hearing and when it goes completely they still expected me to go to the meetings when I can't hear a thing and wouldn't even go outside, amgonst other issues.
