Barclays Bank

We have been operating a business account with Barclays for nearly 30 years. We are a local residents association. Barclays, for over the past year under the guise of fraud prevention, have been asking us to prove who we are and what our address is. Despite us having proved this a number of times. They keep coming back asking for the same information over and over again. Under the threat that they will close our account. Hours spent on the phone with them. Correspondence to their Business Manager of their Worthing branch totally ignored. This is the bank which has itself been accused of Libor fixing and other irregularities. A dreadful bank. We have moved our account from them and a further 5 accounts by associates. Avoid them.

Easy and efficient service

Long queues on a Saturday morning. Staff seemed to be in short supply with only one person dealing with non paying enquiries. She was very good and efficient, which made the visit less painful. The bank needs to realise that not everything can be done on line and a lot of people can only get in on Saturdays as they work during the week.
