Bengate Barn Cottages

Amazing destination for a getaway, short stay, honeymoon. If you're looking for a great, remote, quiet place to spend some good quality time by yourself or with your partner, the Bengate Barn Cottages offer a serene atmosphere. The rooms are clean and cozy and everything is thoughtfully planned and laid out. The hosts try to provide as much helpful info as possible.

We stayed here at The cart lodge for a long weekend, the cottage was well decorated, furnished with a warm family feel. The kitchen is well equipped, and open planned. The garden is safe and secure for any pets you may take, the hot tub is lush and the garden furniture comfy with a bbq for out door eating. You have your own parking space and there is an onsite gym. I would highly recommend this as an absolutely lovely place to stay.

Disappointing. After reading reviews and browsing airbnb we decided on the little bengate barn. This was our first getaway without the kids for 3 years, so we were really excited. First the positives: * hot tub - amazing * Living room and kitchen - fab and well equipped for your needs. Now the disappointments: * Bed is awful, it is 2 single beds zipped together rather than the king size 4 poster advertised. The bed is lumpy and useless if you are any height over 5ft 8 (I'm 5ft 9 and my feet hung over the end) * The WiFi/broadband is not fit for purpose. Why have a streaming TV when you can't stream anything. Couldn't access websites etc to look for days out or even airbnb website to contact the host. * The wall on the kitchen and bedroom side is so thin meaning we heard everything from next door (screaming, air hockey and pool playing). It felt like they were in the room next door. * Welcome bag forgotten and had to be prompted for. We also had bad power cuts repeatedly on the 2nd night (which can't be helped) , but expected some kind of check in from the on site host as there was no torch etc. This has put me off using Airbnb again.
