This is not a charity worthy of support. Their household collection arrangements are spectacularly unreliable in that:- a) bags placed out for collection are not collected on the nominated day; b) phone calls to what is laughingly called the helpline are met with indifference; c) the helpline operator refuses to provide either their own name or the name of any senior person. d) repeated phone calls about uncollected bags make no difference - the bags remain uncollected. e) to be told by the "helpline" operator that she will make a note of my concerns is farcically inadequate. NKF uses a contractor called Unicare Ltd to collect its charity bags. That means that Unicare (a misnomer if there ever was) is taking a rake off from all domestic donations. That is not what people donating to a charity either want or expect. We want all of our donations to go direct to the particular charity. That is why high street charity muggers are so resented and disliked. NKF clearly has no control over the day to day activities of its own contractor. NKF has no idea how badly its own(paid) contractor is performing and no idea how much aggravation they are causing well intentioned householders. Is it any wonder that the charity sector as a whole is increasingly falling into disrepute? Colin Green

Plastic bags are bad for the environment and dangerous to animals. Please don't post them through people's doors.
