Recently attended a wedding here and it was really lovely It's a wonderful venue with lots of lovely grounds and a mixture of spaces and a very well stocked bar that had a decent range considering its small size. It was a beautiful day. There is plenty of parking to the front of the property and the grounds appear well manicured and looked after. Its in a lovely rural quiet location, surrounded by countryside. We stayed over in one of the in house rooms. The room was very grand, with large furniture and lots of space and a small ensuite. However cleanliness level was a little below our standard and there were a few minor maintenance issues with the ensuite. The food was ok although we felt it was a little lacking compared to the rest of the venue and not quite at the same standard as everything else. (There was nothing wrong with the food - wedding meal and morning breakfast - just nothing special or memorable about it) However, the stone baked pizzas served on the evening were excellent and a great alternative to the traditional evening buffet!

The room & bathroom I had in the main building was a little tired and rather small shower enclosure but friends had some newer rooms in the outhouse buildings that were much smarter. Staff were fantastic and good breakfast and dinner. Food & drinks: Great evening restaurant menu

Came for a Christmas meal a couple of weeks ago. Its a lovely setting, but I cant help but think that the posh setting is what you are really paying for as the food was pretty average. For the starter I had the duck terrine which was tiny and bland. The main was a bit better, the turkey and gravy was pretty good but two small roast potatoes were pretty anaemic looking and only one parsnip. Zero green veg included. I mean who chose to not include sprouts in a Xmas turkey dinner?? I cant believe any self respecting chef would make this decision so Im assuming it mustve been a decision from the management. I had the cheese board for dessert which was also disappointing as it came with 6 of those hexagonal style tasteless cardboard crackers and half the cheese choices were poor. For 40 a head I expected alot better. Wont be coming again. p.s. definitely nothing against the staff who were great so the service gets a 5. This review was simply based on the standard of the food I personally had.
