Were getting married in September nearby and wanted to spend our wedding night here. I rang up to book and was told that they only did 2 night stays for the weekend and would need to speak to the owner. Rang back and spoke to the owner who was incredibly curt and said you can book for one night now, use the website, bye. Used the website - you cant book for one night only. Ring back - speak to someone else who clearly doesnt want to speak to us. Says the rooms havent been released yet for 4 months away (well they have because other rooms have been booked for that date and we can see on the website). Didnt offer to book it for us, no one was helpful. Its at the point where were like - were trying to give you 200 - do you want it or not? In contrast - rang 2 other local high end pubs with rooms. Both congratulate us on our engagement and wedding, immediately offer single night stays even though the policy is usually 2. One is fully booked but suggests some local airbnbs they know. Couldnt have been a bigger difference between them. Killingworth have been rude and unhelpful at every turn. Crying shame because were local and would have been back again, but youve lost some customers now killingworth. Maybe it would be nice to bother saying congratulations next time. So here let me say congratulations for your terrible customer service.
