Its important to note that I have known the artist Derek Shapiro more than 20 years within that time we have commissioned 5 individual paintings of various types, horses, wildlife, landscapes and still life . Each painting tells a story and whats equally important is knowing the subject that has been painted and Derek captures it perfectly . From my experience is takes a very good artist to be able to portray that constancy throughout a extensive portfolio. Derek also besides oil painting is also a perfectionist when it comes to just drawings , you name it , he can do it . Finally it has always amazed me personally how someone can have that talent to reproduce what one can visually see so perfectly on canvas. B TGarbett .

Derek Shapiro, one of Shropshires gentlemen artists, a painter of the real world around us, a meticulous eye catches the smallest of details, if you want a gift for the man or woman who has everything, then a visit to his his studio/gallery is highly recommended.

A good range of excellent paintings by one of the finest artists locally. Super wildlife painting mixed with domestic country scenes. Love the wine and food based paintings too! Well done Derek. You give us lots of pleasure!
