I signed up to the Kilimanjaro challenge back in 2020, pandemic moved it may times but finally got to go in October 2022. It was the best week ever - Action Challenge may not be the easiest to get an email back from, but their hospitality, organization and leadership etc etc on the mountain and to and from the mountain was amazing! The Mountain Leader, Medic and the local team Action Challenge work with on the ground were INCREDIBLE. I went on the Machame on 6th Oct and had the best time. I recommend them to anyone and everyone! I was lucky enough to get James Kent as my mountain leader - his confidence, his leadership and the laughs he brought made the trip so organised, fun and I always felt like I was in safe hands with him leading us. Our team all felt like family by the end and I got very lucky with those who attended but also with the leader and medic. Stacy C-H as our Medic, with her kind and friendly aura.. I instantly felt safe with her and she dealt with everything so calmly. She reassured us often, giving us a heads up on what the next day may bring in terms of altitude and sun protection etc etc. She made me feel so safe the entire time. Even when she gets altitude sickness herself she was back and forth up and down the mountain to help those in the group who were feeling bad and she never once let that slip. Highly recommend action challenge to anyone looking to do a challenge. I have also done one of their ultras in the UK and the organisation to that was second to none. Highly recommend, do not look elsewhere! Think its time to book Everest Base Camp with them too... xxx

Event was organised well however ... In May, I contacted them to explain my shirt had not arrived. They replied the same day, asked me to complete a form (for the third time) and explained it would be posted the next week. The day before my event, I emailed to explain it had still not arrived and to ask whether we could find a solution at the event - No reply ... To this day! At the event a helpful lady explained that if I bought one they'd arrange a refund. Now, this seems odd. You know I purchased a product, I can evidence that you are aware it has not been received, have many freely available but ... Want me to buy more before refunding? I was sceptical after the previous non responsive attitude but went ahead anyway. When my refund was not received, I got in touch again and received no reply ... Until I got in touch again from one of my Insta accounts (9k+). Within an hour I had a phone number. Wonder what prompted that sudden change in attitude. I have since rang twice, received no reply, not received any reply to my previous two attempts to contact them and am 40 down on merchandise I should not have had to purchase. Also worth pointing out, 4 out of 6 team members did not and have not received their merch either! And when I mentioned it on the weekend ... I came across others with the same story from that event and others. These events are a big deal for a lot of people. An opportunity to do something special and this just leaves a sour taste!!
