A massive thank you to Alan from Parkin Estates who helped transport our beautiful golden retriever, Ollie ,urgently up to the vets when he collapsed last Thursday.Sadly he passed away .Alans prompt action and kindness was immeasurable and we are so grateful to him .If any of the helpers who stopped and shared all our CPR efforts and supported us are reading this, we owe you a big thank you too .

Terrible experience at this beach. My friends and I were queueing for ice cream, and as anyone who has visited will know, vehicles do not have a designated route to tow mobile food stands onto the beach, and instead do so via a public access way. On this occasion, a vehicle was towing a food stand off the beach due to closing time. Apparently, no one had checked that the hatch of the food stand was closed and or secured. As the food stand moved past us, my friend warned that the side hatch was open, and was level with our heads. Most of the party managed to duck as to avoid being struck in the head, however, two of us were not so lucky. Myself and my girlfriend were hit hard on the head, despite ducking. Had it not been for the warning of our friend, all four of us would have been struck directly in the side of the head by the metal hatch, which was being towed at around 10 miles per hour. My girlfriend sustained a bump to the head, whereas I was struck directly in the side of the head and began to bleed considerably. It was at this point that beach staff and members of the public began shouting after the vehicle that the hatch was not secured. I was handed napkins to stem the bleeding. I approached the vehicle, and explained to the elderly driver what had happened. She did not apologise, or even acknowledge that she had split my head open, and she instead told me that I needed to go and walk to the lifeguard. She remained in her vehicle while a more capable individual closed and secured the hatch, and a more reasonable member of staff invited me to sit in his shop, and he would call the lifeguard for me. At the time of writing, the wound remains superficial, but as anyone with experience knows, head wounds can often evolve into more sinister symptomology. While being treated by the lifeguard, I saw the same member of staff driving on and off of the beach repeatedly, not once bothering to get out of her vehicle and acknowledge what had happened. I was later informed that this lady was the 'boss' of the staff that operate on the beach, which amplified my shock tenfold; Had there been more people in the queue, and had my friend not warned of the open hatch (which narrowly avoided hitting the walls of buildings at either side of the access way), this event could have been extremely serious. While the beach itself is lovely, I can confidently say that Parkin Estates Ltd would benefit from corporate restructuring, at minimum allowing someone who knows the basics of public safety to oversee their operation.

We arrived 4.30pm. Parking is charged till 6pm. We still had to pay 10.00. Same as a full day. Felt this was exploitation of countries pandemic / circumstances - Covid staycation etc
