Mums Dry Cleaners & Launderette

I visit this business just 4 or 5 times per year to wash and dry my heavy blankets but every time I use this place 50% or more of the equipment is out of order. I understand from previous reviews that customers get their money back when they have trouble with the service but the point is that it should not be a normal situation for a business that neighbourhood really needs. You can hear customers inside the businesss complaining about same issue. If parts are difficult to get why not consider to change the equipment that is causing more trouble? It has been an ongoing situation at this place but it seems there is no one who really takes care of this business and make it better. I notice from previous owner's replies that I cannot expect a different one here, but whatever it is does not change my mind about this long time business in the area.

I have been going to this launderette for nearly 40 years. When it was taken over by Mums, they did clean it up and redecorated. But it has slowly declined to the extent that yesterday, Sunday, not one dryer was working. I have wasted a lot of money in the recent months using this launderette, no more. The owner will reply with a list of excuses. We are not stupid, there are other well maintained launderettes around. All I would suggest to the owner is to change the name to Dumbs Launderette as keeps making dumb excuses for running down this launderette.

My experience is that your coins are taken and they don't register and you don't get them back. Also most of the equipment doesn't work and the place is dirty. Look at past reviews. Most people are saying the same thing. They say the same thing because it is true. But the owner, rather than taking the criticism constructively decides to complain about the customers bad reviews and deflect any blame with blaming others or anything else he can. I won't ever use the place again. There are much better launderettes elsewhere.

Don't waste your time and money coming to this place. 4 of 9 machines are out of order. 5no dryers and only one works, and not always. The machine only accepts 1 coins. If you put 2 coins, the machine doesnt recognise it but it does not give it back. And if you press cancel after put money, it does not give it back. So, I lost 5 pounds for nothing! The place is dirty and clearly it is not properly maintained. It is a shame! Response to the business: the machine does NOT recognise the 2 coins. It takes the coin but it does not account as a money. It just happened to me!! There were a couple of ladies using only 1 dryer and pressing the gate of the machine to make it work. I am not lying, just been there, washed my duvet and took it at home wet!! I appreciate that you want to have the business open during the weekends, but you must recognise that it needs an improvement and give a better service, with no difference if it is weekdays or weekends. If people complain, you should take it as an opportunity for improvement
