The Kumar's Catering

We couldn't have been happier that we came across The Kumar's Catering. Having considered a vast range of caterers (party buffet food, afternoon tea, Indonesian, paella, Vietnamese, hog roast and so on) for a Greek Orthodox christening reception, this company came out top for responsiveness, flexibility and the sheer variety of their offering. From the moment I submitted my query via Google messages to the delivery of the food itself, the service was absolutely seamless.. We had considered booking on-site caterers who would have cooked and served the food in person but ultimately decided it would work out more conveniently to have the food delivered piping hot and ready to eat. During the initial stage of considering caterers, I was able to speak directly with one of the chefs who answered all my queries regarding the menu with utmost patience and explained the options comprehensively. He was incredibly polite, professional and informative, and it was very helpful to be able to devise the menu in consultation with him. We had some rather specific requests for items that were not available on the menu and the company was extremely obliging with these. We ordered a vast range of dishes and our guests enjoyed the food immensely - they commented on the incredible variety, excellent flavours and quality. This is good, honest Indian home-style cooking. For 40 guests, we ordered butter chicken (North Indian style), butter paneer masala, dhal makhani, Nana's fish curry, Nana's chicken wings, lamb chops flavoured two ways, aubergine curry, bhindi fry, masala aloo, coconut rice, pulau rice, chappatis and parathas. I particularly enjoyed the butter chicken (we asked for an extra rich and thick sauce), masala aloo (the potatoes were so sweet) and bhindi fry, but every guest had their favorites and the wings went down a treat too. We were able to specify less heat for the dishes and they got the spice level exactly right. Portions were bountiful and I loved the fact that despite having so many big meat eaters amongst us, the menu was predominantly vegetarian and still got rave reviews. The authenticity and flavour of the food was verified by our Indian friends. I can say the food was truly one of the highlights of the day and we wouldn't hesitate to use The Kumar's Catering services again. Jay Kumar and his team catered my birthday party. The food was delicious, and all our guests enjoyed the colourful and tasty cuisine. Jay was charming throughout, and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
