Woodford House

The carers were wonderful when looking after my Dad...especially the day Dad died and the way they supported me...felt that they were not backed up by management though...home desperately needed updating and this was four years ago...my Dad managed to climb a totally inadequate garden fence and was found two miles away by police...having apparently fell but looked like he had been beaten up...taken to hospital...broken nose,ribs, black eyes...I wasn't even informed that he was missing until two hours after the event...and was then told not to go to the hospital as he was okay...I went to the hospital made a complaint to police and the home but it was all hushed up ...Dad couldn't tell me what had happened as he had Altzheimers ... very sad memories of this place...

I find Woodford Nursing home. Meets current government legislation and guidelines . .for the care of the residents in there care. However .. I find a major problem with communication between some management and staff. Also following up and providing feedback on complaints. Is very adhoc .I find there is confusion when booking appointments for visitors or hospital consultations and errors regarding paper work. When I have complained formally regarding this...I recieve a corporate apology and a assurance this will not happen again.....It does it has and yet another apology ..I have concerns regarding health and safety in certain areas and have addressed these concerns with the manager... . I feel the building and security . Is reminisce of a 1980s institutional centre and has not really come onto the 21 th century regarding vision. .
